Top 10 Greatest Premier League Kit Sponsors
Last updated 9th August, 2023

10. Arsenal - 02

Some sponsors are iconic for their connection to the city, some for their design. But others, like o2 become iconic because of the team and memories associated them. It also helps the kit design it was part of. o2 were with Arsenal for 5 years and had some of their greatest teams. The images of Henry in the pictured shirt will be enduring.

4. Fulham - Pizza Hut (2001-2002)

There is no real tangible reason why this is so high on our list, it is just great. Ask football fans on the street some memorable sponsors and Pizza Hut will rank highly, which is highly impressive as they only stuck around for one season! It is not more ridiculous that professional athletes should wear a pizza company on their chest compared to an alcoholic beverage, but there is something funny about it. Also, the pizza hut colour scheme is a perfect match for Fulham, and a sponsor blending into the shirt design is a key factor in what can make a sponsor elite.

3. Leicester City - Walkers

Walkers crisps was founded in Leicester so is another great example of a local brand supporting their local club, and much like Wigan they also had the stadium rights as well. It feels like a crime that Lineker's days of playing for Leicester were over before the sponsorship started with his love affair of crisps.

2. Liverpool - Carlsberg (1992-2010)

If Carslberg did football sponsorship, they would probably be the best in the world. Oh wait they did, and although we don't rank them at number one they are one of the most iconic in league history. For nearly 20 years Liverpool wore Carlsberg on the front of their shirt and won just about every trophy in doing so. When your sponsor becomes the joke of a Harry Enfield sketch you know you've hit a winner.

1. Newcastle United - Newcaslte Brown Ale (1991-2000)

Arguably the greatest premier league kit in Premier League history of course adorns the greatest sponsor. The classic blue star was a staple in the early 90's for some iconic kits, and in the height of the Keegan's entertainers era the full Brown Ale logo took over. There is something special about a brand having a connection to the city that it sponsors and what is a better example of this than Newcastle Brown Ale.
